If you’re ready to give up on dating, I get it! Dating is not for the faint of heart. And sometimes, it takes a lot more than dating quotes to cure dating burnout.
Chances are, you’ve tried to “meet people” in person. You’ve signed up for dating apps. You’ve swiped so much that you’re worried you’ll get carpal tunnel.
And even though modern dating has given us more choices than we can keep track of, finding “the one” seems impossible.
But as someone who first started online dating when Plenty of Fish was the go-to app (crazy, right?), I want to share some “ancient” wisdom 🙂:
If you want love, don’t give up. Because it’s still out there.
You might find love on your very next date. Or in fifty dates. Or in five years. Who can say?
But the only way to know for sure is to keep an open mind and heart.
Relish in singledom, while you have it. Laugh if a date gets weird. Use dating as a way to learn about yourself, learn about others, and grow.
And for now, check out these ten dating quotes. I hope they give you a laugh, food for thought, and the re-set you need to go on that next date, if you’re open to it!
Dating after 30 is easy. It’s like riding a bike. But the bike is on fire. And the ground is on fire. Everything is on fire. Because you are in hell.
Don’t look for a partner who is eye candy. Look for a partner who is soul food.
I went out with a guy once who told me I didn’t need to drink to make myself more fun to be around. I told him, ‘I’m drinking so that you’re more fun to be around.’
Ask yourself, does this person make me feel good about myself? Do I feel safe, strong and free with this person? Those are the questions you need to ask . . . You have to be strong to truly be open.
Dating has taught me what I want and don’t want, who I am, and who I want to be.
I’m a bit of a romantic, to a fault. It’s led me to some great things and also some sad things. It’s made me a better person, to keep a good spirit about dating.
Better to put your heart on the line, risk everything, and walk away with nothing than play it safe. Love is a lot of things, but “safe” isn’t one of them.
The best thing a man can do on a first date is be a friend. I think that’s the biggest mistake men make on the first date. Just get to know me. Be my friend. Just kick it with me as if I was hanging with a homeboy. It shouldn’t be this awkward situation. It should be that we’re there, having a great time.
I don’t know the first real thing about the dating game. I don’t know how to talk to a specific person and connect. I just think you have to go to person by person and do the best you can with people in general.
Being single used to mean that nobody wanted you. Now it means you’re pretty sexy and you’re taking your time deciding how you want your life to be and who you want to spend it with.
I hope you enjoyed these dating quotes! And I’d love to hear from you in the comments: which one was your favorite?
