To show up as our best selves and lead bold lives, we need to make self care a priority. The self care products below will help you treat yourself, reduce overwhelm, gain clarity on your life goals, invest in your learning, and more. I hope they help you as much as they’ve helped me!
1. Affirmation Cards to Help with Gratitude, Mindfulness, Daily Encouragement and Self Care
Self care is not just about spa treatments or beauty products; it’s also about feeling happy and at peace in your mind.
One approach that has consistently been proven to help with our thoughts is doing affirmations. In other words, assuring ourselves that we are beautiful, powerful, and worthy of love, to name a few.
Affirmations sound so easy that, sometimes, we end up not doing them! It slips our mind. But with these beautiful affirmation cards, you’ll have a gentle reminder to kickstart your day with positivity and empowerment.
2. Yoga Mat
Confession: I am not a yogi. And you don’t have to be one either, to make good use of a yoga mat!
I highly recommend yoga mats for stretching in general, or even just having something to sit and meditate on outdoors. You can even use a yoga mat to do stretches on as part of a morning routine.
I’ve found that stretching first thing in the morning helps get my blood flowing and my body energized and ready for the day. If you don’t have a morning routine yet, or you’re looking to change things up, a yoga mat could be a great solution.
3. Aromatherapy Shower Steamers
We’re all familiar with bath bombs, but admittedly, I rarely use them. While I love baths, sometimes I’m just too short on time!
For days where you’re craving some quick self care, these shower steamers will do the trick. I love that each steamer is a different scent to keep things interesting, and since they’re actually made from pure essential oils, you get the relaxing benefits of aromatherapy.
The steamers themselves are also gorgeous! In my opinion, great presentation + a product that actually works makes these steamers a great gift as well.
4. “Atomic Habits” by James Clear
Have you ever wanted to kick a bad habit, or form a new one, but had trouble staying consistent? If so, I highly recommend James Clear’s #1 New York Times bestseller, “Atomic Habits.”
James Clear is one of my favorite writers, given his ability to boil down complex concepts into easy-to-understand and enjoyable reading. This book is no exception. In it, he shares a proven framework for habit formation.
By applying his framework, you’ll stay motivated to form habits that will bring you all the closer to achieving your life goals. And to me, learning such frameworks designed to make life easier is definitely a form of self care!
5. Pink and White Journal
Journaling is one of the best practices you can cultivate to process your thoughts, gain greater clarity on your life goals, and get after your dreams.
The journal below is super cute in my opinion, and a great place to start your journaling practice!
It’s also blank on the inside, so you can be free-flowing with your thoughts. You can also change up your journaling routine on different days.
For example, one day, you can write down all of the things you’re grateful for. The next day, you can write a list of your life goals. You can also look up journal prompts online. In short, lots of options!
6. Tabletop Meditation Zen Garden
I spent an embarrassing amount of time looking for the perfect zen garden. I wanted one with sleek-looking trinkets; nice, white sand; incense; and a rake, of course!
Zen gardens are perfect for relieving stress and anxiety.
Raking the sand helps you focus on a simple, relaxing task. It brings you back to the present when you’re preoccupied with the past or future. And it helps you take a break from everything else going on in your life. We all need that break!
This zen garden currently sits in the middle of my coffee table in my living room. It looks like a cute, yet functional, piece of decor. And it’s fun to watch my friends rake away when they come over. =)
7. MelodySusie Aromatherapy Candles
One of my favorite go-to’s for stress reduction is lighting an aromatherapy candle. I think that’s because the effect is immediate for me!
There’s something I just love about watching a candle flicker away as I work, and letting its smell fill the room.
In a nutshell, I’m a firm believer that candles help us achieve personal development goals.
This candle set includes jasmine, lily, freesia, and rosemary scents. The candle holders are also a fun, light pink and make for a super cute gift!
8. “What I Love About You” Fill-in-the-Blank Gift Journal
A huge part of self care, in my opinion, is nurturing the relationships that make you feel whole, and expressing gratitude for the ones you love. And this is one of the best ways to do it!
The journal includes fill-in-the-blank templates like, “I love going to _______ with you,” “I love it when you ____,” and a ton more. You can personalize the journal to your heart’s content!
It’s one of the most heartfelt gifts I’ve given to date. And it’s the perfect (small) size, so your loved one can tuck it away and refer back to it when they’re needing a little love.
9. Cocofloss Coconut-Oil Infused Woven Dental Floss
I discovered this floss through my dental hygienist. I told him I was worried about more cavities and my gums receding, and he highly recommended COCOFLOSS. Naturally, I obliged!
The floss exceeded my expectations. It removes far more “food particles” from my teeth than any other floss. (Sounds gross, but that’s the job of floss!)
It also lasts for six months, has a minty fresh taste and super cute packaging, and it’s cruelty-free. This guilty pleasure is here to stay!
10. The Face Shop Arsainte Eco-Therapy Moisturizer
I was perusing Amazon, as one does, when I came across this gem. I’ve gone through my fair share of moisturizers, and I thought I’d just add this one to the list.
But now, it’s the only one I use daily! It doesn’t make my face greasy, even when I wear it under makeup. (And that’s not easy to come by, in my experience.)
It’s also not perfume-y. I put it on morning and night, and it has a “fresh” scent that is relaxing – not overwhelming.
It also moisturizes! Which makes sense – it’s a moisturizer – but it’s surprising how many moisturizers aren’t that moisturizing. This one is. That said, if you have super dry skin, I recommend using this + a more intense moisturizer once a week. Anyway, this product is my #1 choice to give my face a little self care.
11. GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment
I used to think of face masks as these fun, indulgent things that you do when you want to be pampered. Don’t get me wrong – they’re still that – but who knew face masks actually worked?
Let me tell you: this face mask gets to work on your face almost immediately. It’s far more than just a nice self care treatment.
It has a slight tingling sensation and gets down into your pores to remove the impurities. You can even see your pores as this mask works its magic. (If you have very sensitive skin, perhaps you might not like the tingling? But to me, it says the mask is doing its job.)
Afterward, my skin looks clearer and more supple. If I have a “new” zit forming when I do the mask, it calms it down. So you can use this mask for spot treatment, too.
12. Biolage Hydrasource Conditioning Balm
After a rough college breakup back in the day, I did a “box dye” and dyed my hair almost black (I’m naturally a light blonde).
A year later, I decided to return to my light blonde roots. But it wasn’t easy. The bleach required left my hair feeling like straw. It was even breaking off in little pieces!
My hairdresser at the time recommended BIOLAGE’s shampoo and conditioner. Both are great, but the conditioner in particular saved my hair. In fact, I haven’t found a hair care product I love more since.
I often get asked about my hair and what products I use, and my secret is out! This balm is super moisturizing (without making your hair look greasy), it makes your hair smell beautiful, and a little goes a long way. I’ve been happily hooked for years!
I hope you enjoyed this list! I’ll be adding to it periodically as I test out new products, so feel free to check back in soon! xox
